What’s the fuel economy in my 1967 Camaro going to be if I drop a 383 ci, 502 ci, or a 540 ci crate engine in it? Anybody have any specs on any of the engines perhaps in another car, or fuel economy numbers for them?
A: It depends on whose crate motors you are talking about, as in what builder. GM, Shaffiroff, World, etc. and what version of said crate motor. A 383 with EFI could possibly get over 25 mpg on the highway. On the other hand a 540 with a Dominator could be under 5 mpg. The fuel system and valve train combination will determine fuel mileage much more than the displacement.
Q: I want to restore a 67 Camaro, how difficult is it to find original parts?
The engine I’m not worried about. I plan on dropping in a 350 with some current modifications. I’m concerned about body parts. Metal panels and thing such as window cranks and whatever. Are they still readily available? Am I going to have to scour junk yards and Ebay or is there a company who makes new OEM parts?
A: Not at all, you can find parts all over the internet, just use google.com 
Q: How much would a 67 camaro regular show car or a 64 impala stock show car which would go for more price range ?
How much would both cars sale for!
A: I would determine that the Camaro would sell higher than the Impala if they were both rated at the same level of resoration. There are different levels of show quality. Some are even judged by the correct bolts and even if the color is exactly correct. The engines and options also will make it rare and more desirable. Giving a price for both would be guess work without a lot of information that an appraiser would have to accululate. If I had both cars I would drive the impala and show the Camaro. If I were keeping one I would keep the Camaro as an investment. Sorry that I can’t be of more help!

A: Can I ask what you think a semi-automatic trans is? There’s no really no such thing unless you mean an automatic trans with a manual valve body…which in that case yes, it’d work…
Q: How to fasten down 67 Camaro dash pad?
Someone else took it out, now I’ve got the job of reinstalling. What steps can you give me to reinstall?. Will I have to drop my instrument panel and steering wheel?
On bottom side of the dash pad, on the metal part there are 4 studs (not screws) what type of clips or fasteners can I use to lock in place? Has anyone had any experience with this?

A: sorry bro, but the factory way to do this..(been there dun that) and the only proper way,,is to remove the whole dash. if your resoring it, that’s what you’ll have to do. if not, find some spring clips with the hole size and reach like crazy to try and get some of them on. with the types of glue they make today.there’s probably plenty of substances you could use, but ive replaced many ..under warranty, and they are a nightmare1!!

Ahh I need help! the hood of my car is open and appears to be stuck. Is there some sort of button to close it? Help!
A: just any other bonnent, either drop it from about a foot off closing, or lean on the end where the catch is until you hear a click/clunk
if no click/clunk, bonnent catch needs adjustment

I know the VIN only tells if the car was a 6 or 8 cylinder car. And I don’t think the Cowl tag gives any engine information. So how can I tell what size engine the car came with?
A: Simply put, you can’t. Not unless you have original documentation that was supplied with the car either during assembly or delivery, such as the original buyer’s order or a factory build sheet. Your assumptions are correct about neither the VIN nor the cowl tag containing any engine info (other than indicating 6 or 8 cylinders). This has been a frustrating fact of life for collectors of first-generation Camaros for years now. Not until 1972 did GM add engine-specific information to the VIN.

A: I assume you mean something like a manual valve body or a Transgo Shift kit? Yes, absolutely…and you don’t have to make any modifications to the engine like the first response stated….I have no idea where he’s getting that from

A: People do it all the time especially since these cars have skyrocketed in price! As far as a clone you make the car what you want it’s your money and time so enjoy it…All the parts were meant to fit anyway so good luck… P.S. Girls probably will not know it was rs or ss or rs/ss they just want a good looking car with loud pipes and nice wheels !!!
Q: 67 camaro electrical problems?
I have a 67 camaro rs. Electrical hideaway headlights. I have been having problems recently. It has keyless entry, but now, the passenger door wont lock or unlock with the remote. When i lock the car, the tailights blink twice, but only one of the left tailights lights up, but its fine when im driving. also, my reverse lights come on randomly when i drive. The right healight door wont open, but it will close. When i turn on my headlights, sometimes they dont turn on, i have to hit the dimmer switch and put them on brights for them to work. Also, the interior lights for the speedo and gauges is off alot of the time, and i have to fiddle with the headlight/interior dimmer to make them work. hah oh jeeze what else is wrong. Oh, my alarm doesnt sound anymore..i think that is it. ha If anybody can help with ANY of these problems, i would really appreciate it. I dont have much money, so taking it to a place might be out of the question, but if anyone knows a good place around the SFV thanks
A: sounds like whoever installed your alarm and key less entry screwed up your wiring. Only option is to have them fix it or take the crap out, and hope they didn`t cut to many wires.

A: I don’t think there is such a thing as a cheap first gen Camaro these days, they are very desirable cars. In fact, I think they may the best looking car GM built in the 1960s. That being said, try www.craigslist.com and local ads. Anybody putting their car on Ebay will be expecting top dollar. www.collectorcartrader.com may have some as well. Also, just keep your eyes open when out and about; if you drive by somebody’s house and there is a rough looking car sitting in the yard that hasn’t moved in years, they may be willing to part with it.
