Q: dodge neon?
I have a 02 dodge neon , im the first owner and after 5 years it still works like it’s brand new. With winter coming up i always hate snow and ice on my back windshield. Is it possible to install a rear wiper on a dodge neon?

A: The easiest remedy for this will be to simply keep Rain-X applied. It repels water, snow and ice. It is also extremely inexpensive, compared to a wiper.

I have a 1999 Dodge Neon, My right rear tail light was rear ended and by the looks of it the tail light just can not be replaced, it looks like the whole right side will have to be replaced. Does anyone know about this? Its a 4 door nothing special about it. Has anyone had to replace it?

A: check your local junk yard for replacement parts sometimes you can get the whole thing for 25 bucks ..prolly less.. if theres body damage i would replace the whole quarter panel

Does anyone have a 96-98 dodge neon SOHC, AT parts car? If so I need the main engine wiring harness; I cant seem to find one anywhere. I have looked on eBay and such and the local scrap yards don’t have one. I am getting pretty desperate. Thanks!!

A: Year, Model (SE, SXT, RT, SRT), engine, miles, etc etc etc…

For the money, they’re not bad cars. The early models gave the car a bad name, but in reality, they’re comfortable for smaller people in the back seat and larger people up front, and are decent highway performers to boot.

I would tell you that if you could find a Stratus sedan with a similar price and milage, you’d be a bit better off since it’s larger (I’m 6′2″ and can sit in the back seat), a little more powerful (the V-6 version in the 2001-2006 can be fun, since it’s more or less a “sleeper” with that engine), and much quieter inside.

One word of warning about the SRT Neon – if you’re not used to a manual and the joys of turbocharging, you’ll be in for a shock when initially driving one.

Q: 1999 Dodge Neon is heating up. I have replaced water pump and radiator, what else can be wrong ?
I have a 1999 Dodge Neon. It has been running hot for about 6 months now. For awhile, it was leaking really bad. I have replaced the water pump, themostat, radiator cap and the radiator. Since the repairs, it was running OK, but little by little I noticed the needle climbing as each day goes by. As long as the car is moving, the temperature reads OK, but when idle (even without A/C runnning) the temperature needle begins to climb towards the “H”. I wonder what else could be causing the temperature to rise.

A: The fan is not working properly. The car is cool when moving because the air is being forced through due to the speed your car is moving but when stopped the fan has to do the cooling by itself.

Im about to buy a 05′ Dodge neon but i know nothing about them! i want to know what kind of dodge neon is it and if its going to be fully loaded… its coming from a family member from another state so i cant see it personally. A: Dodge stopped making neons in 2005 and replaced them with the Dodge Caliber. I have a 2005 Dodge Neon SXT. During 2005, Dodge made the Dodge Neon SE, Dodge Neon SXT, and the Dodge Neon SRT-4. If the car really looked sporty and tuned up then it is a Srt-4 for sure and those are stocked turbocharged. If the car is a little sporty but still looks like a regular compact 4 cylinder then it probably is the SXT. The SE model is the basic model of the neon category. They are pretty good cars, but I would suggest trading it at about 130,000 miles. They are known for being excellent cheap cars but not 100% dependable after about 100,00 miles. From 2000-2005 Dodge started making the cars less dependable as the first generation which was from 95-99. At 85,000 miles I had to replace the head gasket because it cracked due to overheating since 2.0 liter engines have heating issues. Other than that and a few kinks dodge refused to work out its been a good first car for me and I’m at 94,000 miles.

Q: Can a 2003 Dodge Neon SXT have the rear brakes converted from drum to disc?
I am wondering if my 2003 Dodge Neon SXT can have the rear brakes converted ? The SRT-4 had quad disc brakes, and that is essentially the same base model with a few upgrades. Can those parts be used? If this can be done, what would it take to have someone do it?

A: if you can find one wrecked thats the best way/buying those parts new really brings the cost way up/aint worth it

On a 98 dodge neon DOHC how much PSI should the compression be reading as?
I just replaced the head gasket during a cylinder head rebuild and I got 122, 120, 115, 120. The block is oem stock.

A: if its running right it should have at least 145-150 on it ,anything less and its either got problems or a crack in the head,or even a blown head gasket,you got problems with that one maybe with the valves or in a head gasket,good luck.

A: It depends on the year. Different years had different trim levels ( and different options versus standard features ).

I have a 2000 Dodge Neon with only 101,723 miles on it. I am wondering what is going on with my car. The oil light starts to come on after it is warmed up and only when I come to a stop. Once I give it gas it goes off. I just had an oil change a week ago, and I checked all the fluids. The oil level is still good. Looking underneath the car there is only about 5 or 6 inches of clearance. Even less if the car is loaded down. Is this normal for a dodge neon and if so is there anything I can get to raise it up a bit.

A: If you really need to raise your neon up, 2gen neon springs will lift up your 1st gen neon.
